Acid-Etched Label Manufacturing Process and Application Areas - Metal & Stainless Steel Label Manufacturing Balıkesir

The production process for acid-etched labels begins with cutting the metal plate to size. The desired design is masked onto the plate using the screen-printing method. After the baking process, the etching process begins in acid baths.

Step-by-Step Manufacturing Stages

  • Metal Selection and Cleaning: Depending on the environment where the label will be used (e.g. marine or indoor), 304 or 316L grade stainless steel plates of suitable thickness are selected, and all oil and dirt is removed from the surface.
  • Graphic Transfer and Masking: The designed vector artwork is transferred onto the steel plate using the screen-printing technique with special acid-resistant paints.
  • Chemical Etching Bath: The masked plate is dipped into special acid-mixed baths. The acid dissolves the exposed areas, creating a permanent depth in the metal.
  • Baked Epoxy Painting: The etched areas are filled with industrial oven-baked paints and cured at high temperature.

Once etching is complete, the recesses are filled with special baked epoxy paint, a protective varnish is applied, and the cutting is finalized.
