The aviation and defense industry has some of the strictest labeling requirements in all of manufacturing. A mislabeled or worn label on a cockpit console or a military vehicle's control panel can directly affect operational safety. That's why the control panel labels used in this sector are subject to far stricter testing and durability criteria than civilian products.

Technical Requirements for Control Panel Labels

  • Vibration Resistance: On surfaces constantly exposed to vibration, such as an aircraft engine, helicopter cabin or armored vehicle body, both the label's print and its adhesion/mounting system must withstand this vibration.
  • Thermal Shock Tolerance: Cockpit interior temperature differences can range from -40°C to +85°C; the material and ink used must not crack or blister within this range.
  • Resistance to Finger Contact: On buttons that are touched constantly, text and symbols must be protected against oil, sweat and friction.

Compliance with Aselsan and Defense Standards

Manufacturing Method: Why Printing Alone Isn't Enough

Standard ink-printed labels can fade within a few years under cockpit UV light and constant hand contact. That's why, in defense and aviation projects, we mostly combine acid etching or laser engraving with button designs featuring transparent lexan windows. This combination guarantees both that indicator lights remain visible and that the text is physically indelible.

Confidentiality and Technical Approval Process

Defense industry projects usually require confidentiality. You share your technical files only with our authorized team. Before production, we send you a sample print for approval.

Dimensional tolerance is critical in these projects. That is why every batch undergoes millimeter-precision measurement control after production. If a result falls outside standard, that batch is remanufactured.
