Brass (a copper-zinc alloy) offers a luxurious, classic look thanks to its warm golden color. While the patina layer that forms during natural oxidation partially protects the material against further corrosion, polished or antique/weathered (patina) surface options can also be offered on request.
Copper's Antibacterial Advantage
Copper and copper alloys have natural antimicrobial properties thanks to the ions on their surface, causing many bacteria and viruses to lose viability on the surface much faster than on standard metals. This property makes copper-based labels an interesting option in environments where hygiene is a priority, such as hospitals, clinics and food production facilities.

Comparison With Stainless Steel
Brass and copper are not as suited to aggressive environments (such as constant salt water) as 316L stainless steel in terms of corrosion resistance; but their aesthetic superiority stands out in indoor and moderate-humidity conditions. For heavy industry and outdoor applications, we still recommend stainless steel.
Does a Brass Label Darken Over Time?
Yes, brass can naturally darken slightly over time. This is a natural property of the material; in some projects, this "antique" look is deliberately chosen. If you prefer, we can apply a protective varnish to preserve the shine for longer.
