Why Is Only 316L Stainless Steel Sufficient?
Even 304 grade stainless steel can develop pitting corrosion over time under continuous salt-water contact. 316L stainless steel, thanks to its molybdenum content, shows much higher resistance to chloride ions, making it nearly an industry standard in the marine sector.

Why Is Acid Etching Ideal for Marine Applications?
Because the text is physically engraved into the metal in the acid etching method, even if salt water and UV rays wear away the surface paint, the information remains legible thanks to the engraved depth. This is a critical safety feature during ship inspections and emergency scenarios.
Mounting: Rivets or Adhesive Tape?
On composite/fiberglass surfaces where drilling into the body is undesired, industrial 3M seawater-resistant double-sided tape can be preferred; on metal decks and consoles, stainless rivet mounting is a more permanent solution. We determine the most suitable mounting method together based on your application surface.
Application to Curved Deck Surfaces
Ship and yacht hulls are rarely flat. That's why we cut our labels to a special shape matching the curve of the mounting surface. This lets the label sit flush against the surface and reduces the risk of water pooling.
We never ship a 316L label that hasn't passed the salt-water test. This is a non-negotiable quality rule for us in marine projects.
